The first day of school has come and gone...I'm still in shock. No matter how shocking it was, though, it is not nearly as schocking as what happened to me after school.  I came home and decided to allot myself one hour of relaxing/snack time. An hour came and went, so I decided to start homework (yeah...even though it's all due monday). I nearly had a nervous breakdown...it's only the first day, and I'm already as stressed as I was in the middle of last year. However, I digress. I have figured something out...again. ...I wont go into it. I want to get back to a positive note...if there was ever one to begin with.

So today went fairly well for me, and I think I can say the same for everyone. No, it was not easy to get back to the hustle and bustle of classes, homework, and mind-numbing textbooks...and when I say mind-numbing, I mean the biology text book...

This is going to be the ultimate year despite the fact that people's lunch schedules are SCREWED UP. why do people have late lunch one day and early lunch the next?? That's SO dumb. It screws up lunch groups. Who am I supposed to eat with??????? Okay, so I do have a lunch group, but the family ( and when I say the family I'm referring to our mafia of a lunch group from last year ) is being ripped in half, can i get a "that ain't right!!" amen, amen. I don't have any classes with the colonel!! I don't have any classes with the mollinator! Enough of my griping...so far I'm finding it difficult to stay positive, can you tell i had a nervous break down this evening?

Okay, here's something that is IMPOSSIBLE to make negative. Sam and Rudy are coming up from LA for a whole week including labor day weekend! AND i'm going to the ben kweller concert con lee lee on the 28th. it's gonna be sah-WEET. OH OH!! and my new shoes come today that nicely compliment my new jacket! so things aren't so bad, not bad at all...*le sigh* (what? I always sigh in french...o.0)

I want to write you a poem. not because i had some creative inspiration just now or even because I want to entertain you (which despite what I might tell you, is always my goal when I do any creative writing) So here is my poem, and because I want to get back to the positive, it's going to be about, YEAH YOU GUESSED IT!!! rubberbands

Rubberband, I like the way you sit in my hand. You stretch, you expand, you fly. When I fling you at the guy sitting two desks over, you never fail in making him cry...just kidding...Rubber band...rubberBAND..an instrument all your own, I envy your truest creativity..............*poetry reading snaps*

Thank you, thank you, you're too kind. Tip your waitress, I'll be here all week. So, I'd better quit writing now, I can just feel that things are about to get pretty weird. The later it gets, the more my mind will drift. You might want to keep that in mind when you're around me late at night! So, I'm going to pack up for tomorrow, first G1 day of the year...woo *twirls finger half-heartedly* i love you all!

Gracious me it's been a while...I feel as if I've left you all out in the cold having not let in you in on a taste of my boring life...that was just the cold I have talking...or was it?

Yes, it's true, in the last couple of days, having returned from band camp which was most excellent and dare I say it reightous!...okay i wont say it, okay so i did! so shoot me!! (i dont mean that, but if you have a super soaker, by all means). ...I never finished the sentence that began this paragraph...did you miss my tangents? do you listen to my tangents? ah well, so i aquired a cold, the worst one I've had in a while. BUT, i think it reached the peak of it's infectiousness last night at DCI (curse its timing). anyway, may want to stay away from me for a while...it includes a stuff/runny nose, annoying cough, larun...laring...gitus....okay i lost my voice and cant spell the word for that, you know what i mean!!

So what have I dont while gone for about two or three weeks? Well, I went on a long awaited/needed vacation to La Jolla and surfed (the waves were weak sauce). Erm...I went to band camp, if you didn't already hear about the funny/twisted events of band camp that more than live up to american pie's interpretation, I wont tell you...ew ew ew....Um, and I also went to dci, once again, if you dont know what that is, look it up!...or dont...whatever suits your fancy.

So there you have it, in the past weeks, I have: acquired an annoying/nasty cold, gone to band camp/ dci (drum corps international), and gone to san diego...bah...school's starting...ew ew ew...grody...look at my schedule and tell me what classes we have together!! it's in my buddy info...cant see my buddy info? well just ask me then...bah

current mood: -_- blah

Hey! I'm back...or rather, I've been here all the time...just not posting. So I guess...I'm still here! So, anyways, I just had the most amazing week at Stanford Jazz Workshop. I mean,  I learned a TON, and!!! had the best time with my concert combo. I mean we had THE coolest teacher who is just an amazing Jazz pianist. Heard of him? Taylor Eigsti http://www.tayjazz.com check it out i mean it. even if you don't like jazz...guys might not appreciate it as much...ah well. He's the best, I'm going to go to his concert august 12 at Yoshi's in the city...it's gonna be tight.

So, Jazz camp this week at Stanford. I made some new friends, they were pretty cool...we're not going to hang out during the year but I'll see them next year. I love meeting new people that laugh at all my jokes, even the corny ones. That's just fantastic. So a combo is a group of the same level musicians placed together to learn two or three jazz songs to play at the end of the week at the student concert. in each piece, every musician must have an improv solo that is the length or twice the length of the song. (I rocked my improv).  So I had the best time at Jazz camp this past week. I'm going both weeks next summer.

Updates from me? Well, I leave for La Jolla for the week tomorrow. I'll be back on Saturday. Um...I got a new cell phone, same number but verizon rather than sprint....let's see...we're a little closer to getting a puppy and leaning toward a male chocolate lab. and I think that's it for me. Sorry this post couldn't be more entertaining...but I'm really...eh well yeah...did that make sense? oh well. I have to go, I want to practice my sax. I cant go from playing it everyday all day for a week straight to not playing at all. That's just inhuman!  --((have a jazzy day))-- ::imoutofwords:: ((::Jessica::))

so i've heard that i'm not as far behind on the reading as i thought i was. no really! i thought that everyone was done and i was the only one left reading this 619 page book about stupid farmers (the grapes of wrath). well i found out that some people have finished the first book and not the second (the first being a raisin in the sun). some people have finished the second but not the first. some are in the middle of the first, and some the second. some ARE actually done with both. and then...much to my surprise, some haven't/have barely started either...shocking i know. anyway, enough about summer reading.

so...this weekend, i really didn't do that much. yesterday i chilled at home, watched some tv, then we went over to my dad's at like...3 in the afternoon...i read for a bit, watched some tv, then it was dinner time. my dad JUST got a dvd player yesterday, so he wanted to try it out. he got the dvd player at best buy and proceeded to buy 2 dvd's. the first was ali, which is decent. the second *shudders* is called endurance. little did my father know that the endurance is a DOCUMENTARY! he thought it would be acting. no no, not ONE actor. it was like watching a boring episode of God knows what on the history channel. Though I wasn't paying attention, the general thing of this movie was that this guy and thirty other guys were crossing the arctic and got trapped in the ice...yadda yadda yadda...we stopped the dvd, cuz i couldn't take the madness. luckily law and order svu was on, and so was degrassi. so the night was all good.

sooo....tomorrow i start jazz camp...i dont REALLY want to go, but i know it will be beneficial so i guess you could say that i kind of want to....but not really? anywho..i dont know anyone there, it's all day for this entire week. then on friday night we have a concert. wanna go? it's at stanford, i'm on at i think 7pm. ask me about it if you want to go (it's free!!). bah...i dont want to sit in boring classes about theory and improv. it's so booooring. but i'll get way better on sax, and it's a nice warm up to band camp (aug. 9-13th!!!) can you tell that i'm really looking forward to that?

MORE than anything else i'm looking forward to the la jolla trip that's coming up for me ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!! surfing, tanning, shopping, wake boarding, water skiing, snorkeling, scooba diving, swimming. we go every summer, and what could be better than a small beach town with everything i need?? i want to live there some day, or at least have a house there. it's my dream, my absolute dream. hah...absolute dream reminded me of those early days of television, you know early nineties stuff? when they called hott guys dream boats?? such a dream boat *chuckles* ahh, the good old days. now what do we say about guys? not handsom, no no that's too old fashioned now *rolls eyes* they're hot...yeah hot...i'm not going to let that phrasing bother me, i've already conformed. but what happened to dashing and debonaire?...i dont think i spelled that right...ahh well.......well it's a wonderful night for a moondance
